Today we had the privilege of a sermon by the Rev’d Fred Cooper.

He gave a passionate sermon on how prayer is often overlooked, and how we cannot exist as Christians unless we turn to God in prayer. He drew on life experiences as evidence of how prayer really worked, how God always answers our prayers. He sometimes doesn’t give us the answer that we are hoping for because He knows better, he is our creator and He knows best.
Fred reflected on how Jesus was constantly praying, how he modelled a life of prayer.
In the garden of Gethsemane, nailed on the cross he prayed for forgiveness for his accusers, Jesus prayed at his ascension, and He is praying now, in heaven, constantly prayers of intercession for our needs.
He challenged us “Do we take all of our needs to God?”
Fred reflected on the hymn “What a friend we have in Jesus” and how we need to keep asking, seeking, knocking in prayer for God to give his answer.
If we have worries we should first Pray!
