Jesus Wept!
Jesus – Human and God
Just like there are two sides to the same coin, there are two sides to Jesus.
Jesus is fully human and fully God.
We can see that Jesus was fully human when we are told he wept for Lazarus and deeply moved.
John11:33 When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in his spirit and greatly troubled.
We can also see Jesus was divine because he said things that only God could have known and did things only God could do.
John11:25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Who ever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, 26 and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
John wrote this Gospel to convince us that Jesus was fully God and he tells us at the start of his Gospel.
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
One of the earliest gospels found was the gospel of John. As we go towards to good Friday and we dwell on all that Jesus did and gave up for us, let us ask ourselves the question that Jesus posed;
Do you believe?
